Over the past two decades we’ve had to compete with enormous national chains that have massive marketing budgets, and our small but mighty team has conquered all of these challenges. We believe our dedication to 100% customer satisfaction was the deciding factor every time.
TRUMBULL, Conn. (PRWEB) December 14, 2022
In 2017, while celebrating its 30th anniversary, GBG The Corporate Gift Source, a small minority, woman-owned disadvantaged business based in Trumbull, CT was awarded Supplier of the Year by the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC).
This month, while celebrating its 35th anniversary, GBG has once again been awarded Supplier of the Year by the GNEMSDC.
The Supplier of the Year Award recognizes minority-owned suppliers who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of customer service, sales growth, quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and other areas deserving of recognition.
The mission of the GNEMSDC is to significantly increase procurement opportunities between certified minority owned businesses and corporate members.
GBG was nominated for the award by Pratt & Whitney of East Hartford, CT.
“Pratt & Whitney has been a GBG customer for a very long time,” O’Banion said. “Like most corporations, their branding guidelines are very strict, and they expect top quality products and service at competitive prices. All their suppliers must meet these high standards. We’re delighted to know that we’ve pleased them well enough to earn this award.”
In addition to providing logo branded merchandise for the aircraft engine maker, GBG built and hosts an online store specifically for Pratt & Whitney employees. From there, they can order hats, shirts, pens, mugs, etc., with preapproved company logos on them. The website has streamlined the ordering process while consistently maintaining the company’s brand guidelines.
This is important, O’Banion said, because when employees order branded merchandise from different companies, they don’t always consistently get their brand’s exact fonts and colors. “Preserving brand integrity is one of the cornerstones of good marketing,” she says. “For example, when you have marketing managers ordering items from several different companies, they don’t always notice the minor color variations until they see everything together on the booth at a show. Then the booth ends up looking off brand and amateurish. Our E-stores prevent that.”
GBG recently launched a new Employee Resource Group (ERG) E-store for Raytheon Technologies. “We’re very excited about this new opportunity,” O’Banion said. “Over the past two decades we’ve had to compete with enormous national chains that have massive marketing budgets, and our small but mighty team has conquered all of these challenges. We believe our dedication to 100% customer satisfaction was the deciding factor every time.”
O’Banion said having the GNEMSDC in GBG’s corner has helped, too. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without their guidance and support,” she said.
GBG will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2027. When asked if she expects history to repeat itself again O’Banion smiled and said, “We’re definitely going to keep our customers happy enough to nominate us.”
